This semester of Broadcast Technology has been so fun! It's so weird to think that it is coming to an end so soon. As a final project, each perso in our class had to create a 1-2 minute news package. We had to find an interesting person, interview and record B-Roll, and also edit all of our shots! It was really interesting to see that all of our previous prjects have kind of led up to this one. The six word story project really helped me get cool angles when filming my B-Roll and the Interview an Expert project was a good first step in getting a good idea of how to talk to the person and also the composition of your shot. Personally, I had some challenges when filming. I had a great interview with a varsity soccer player who had some really neat sounbites all set up, but unfortunately she got hurt right before I could film the B-Roll of her actually playing soccer. I quickly had to come up with an alternative plan, which proved to be harder than it seemed. I finally scored an interview with a freshman named Emerson Linden who played on the varsity field hockey team for Ladue. She was great! I got some great soundbites of herand she even had a few shot ideas herself! Overall, if I were to have done something differently, I probably would have came up with a backup sooner just in case so I wasn't as rushed as I was in the final days. I think it worked out pretty well though, ending on a great note for the end of the year. Check out my videos page to watch my final video!
